My name is Brendan Barnhart.  

I am a local Medicare, Individual, & Group Health Insurance broker, advocate, and plan specialist.  Are you or a loved one currently enrolled in Medicare or about to become eligible?  Or perhaps you might be needing an individual plan on the marketplace?  Maybe you're a business owner needing help with your company's Group Health Plan.   With so many options available and an inundation of sales calls and mailers, it can be overwhelming to understand which option and/or plan is best for your specific situation…

Blah blah blah blah…am I right? Let me back up and start again. I’m assuming you started reading this because the mention of the word/s Medicare or Health Insurance Marketplace piqued your interest. Correct? 

Let me continue…

Why should you keep reading at this point? Well, most likely you have a Medicare or other Individual/Group Health Insurance problem and you’re either 1) not happy with your current Medicare/Individual/Group plan or 2) new to Medicare/Individual/Group Marketplace and not sure how best to navigate the plan selection and enrollment process. 

Still with me? I’ll keep going.

Why should you trust me? You don’t know me. You may not even like me (still yet to be determined). I’m not asking you to trust me, at least not yet. All I’m asking is for you to hear me out, just for another minute. 

I grew up in a family where it was important to respect one another, particularly our elders. This family value has always stuck with me as I have grown older.  It has manifested over the years into a strong respect for the senior population in particular, as well as for all like-minded folks.

As a youth I spent much of my time with my grandparents. From tractor rides, to watching sports together, and everything in-between. I grew to thoroughly enjoy listening to their stories and I believe those experiences helped form my love and respect for genealogy and history in general. 

I know this turned into some mushy stuff! 

But my passion for helping seniors and people in general is deep rooted in my childhood and I want to express that to you.  It’s not just about trusting me because of my knowledge and expertise in Medicare/Individual/Group Marketplace but more importantly, trusting in me because of a lifelong respect and appreciation for seniors (and all like-minded individuals), their gratitude, their life perspective, and their decades of contributions to this world.  

Yeah, I can and do help educate you on the differences between Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicare Supplement plans. For the Non-Medicare folks, I help educate you on the Individual/Group Marketplace plan options. 

And I can help you compare the costs, coverage, and network options of each plan, so you can make an informed decision. I also can and do assist you with enrolling in a plan and make sure you are taking advantage of any available discounts or subsidies. 

But...what my childhood taught me was that it is an honor just to spend time with seniors (and like-minded people) and to share in their stories and wisdom. I learned that I should and need to give back to my elders. These life lessons also taught me that our seniors need advocates to listen to them, to value them, and to genuinely be there for them when it matters most. 

Trust is built over time, but it starts with a first impression. From the first impression it can turn into a conversation.  From a single conversation it can turn into multiple conversations which then leads to trust, mutual respect, and friendship. 

Yes, I have a deep understanding of the Medicare, Individual, & Group Health Insurance platforms but most importantly, I pride myself on being your advocate. Whether it’s dealing with claims, appeals, understanding your coverage rights and options, or if you just want someone to listen to your stories, I’m here for you!
